When your child joins us, they will be encouraged to bring a special box to help with settling.
This is a shoebox sized box that stays with us for at least a few weeks, with a few familiar items inside, for example, a small toy, some family photos, leaflets from favourite trips etc.
it’s a great way to introduce the things they like to the group, and they can be a comfort on a homesick day…
I also ask for a photo of the child for their peg and a family photo for the playroom. It adds to the home from home feel and can help create a sense of belonging.
Our cosy living room will be set up with books and games, and offers a quiet space for when that’s needed. The tv is not usually on for watching during the day, but we may use it occasionally for enrichment of children’s interests or our planned activities. We also use Alexa so that we can choose stories and music for a boogie!
In our playroom there is continuous provision of role play, construction, creative and small world play. Other activities are available to children with accessible storage. Being flexible fosters children’s independence and self confidence.
Our garden will be set up with activities every day, weather permitting. Outdoor exploration and play are essential to learning.
Lunch and healthy snacks will be available, as well as baking and cooking for learning and fun! Lots of Maths and science can be explored through these…
We are lucky enough to be walking distance from the Leas, which has lovely views towards Frinton and a little bay that has sand all day long! We plan to visit regularly, along with the local parks, libraries and walks with our puppy, Mabel.
